As far as possible we only use solid materials. If it is an organic material it will need to be maintained. Wood must be oiled
and the limestone treated with soft soap and doing this will make surfaces and materials last longer. Wood changes its form
with the season. Did you know that a tabletop can become up to a whole centimetre wider during rainy or humid seasons?
Drawers can slide easily in winter but may stick during summer. Tabletops can move periodically but then settle back to
normal, our furniture is constructed to allow this to happen without disturbing their function.
We use mainly birch or oak. We always work with solid wood of the highest classification. Birch and oak are classic Nordic materials used for making furniture long back in history.
Many of our pieces incorporate Gotlandic limestone. Fossils and minor cavities occur naturally in all limestone. As a result of sealer treatment, the l imestone is stain resistant. We also use black granite and diabase.
