Solid materials
We only use solid materials. An organic material needs to be maintained. Wood must be oiled and the limestone treated with soft soap. By doing so, it will make surfaces more durable and over time, the need for maintenance will decrease.

Wood changes with the season. Did you know that a tabletop can become up to a whole centimetre wider during rainy or humid seasons?
Drawers can slide easily in the winter but may stick during the summer and table tops can swell but then settle back to
normal when the seasons change. Our furniture is constructed to allow this to happen, without disturbing their function.

Wood
We use mainly birch and oak. We always use solid wood of the highest grade. Birch and oak are classical Scandinavian materials used to make furniture long back in history.

Stone
Many of our pieces incorporate Gotlandic limestone. Fossils and minor cavities occur naturally in all limestone. We use soft soap to treat the limestone. It seals the pores and gives a beautiful and stain resistant surface. We also use black granite and diabase.

Fleece
We are proud to say that all our sheep skins are organic and vegetable tanned in cooperation with Bioskinn. That means no harmful chemicals or metalls are used, every step in the production is carried out in harmony with nature. The fleeces come from the gotlandic sheep which has a natural lustre and curle that makes it stand out among other breeds. Visit Bioskinn here.
